What makes you think that swearing is any less useful in communicatiing
feelings? After all swear words are just as much words as any other.
Why should fuck off be any less useful or looked down upon than go
away? They both say the same thing, but the profane version supplies
something the non-profane doesnt; emotion. Id say that was a far more
efficient manner of communicating in a relatively emotionless medium
such as Usenet.
