Dear All
Ive managed to persuade my other half that a surround sound package
for watching DVDs really is a good idea (its taken years...) so now
Im fishing for something for Xmas. But Im a complete novice on this
so was hoping this group could throw me some advice please. Looking
ahead, with the onset of HD-DVD and seeing that Hard Drive Recorderss
are becoming more common, Im thinking of making do with my old DVD
player (which has DD/DTS) and concentrating on the A/V and Speakers
until HD-DVD/RAM combis are affordable. Points to note include:
Budget- up to Ł300 (I know this may cause raised-eyebrows but this is
my first step into this murky world)
Space- The living room is pretty square but not massive- about 14 foot
by 14 foot. Id have to wall mount the speakers and its also a semi-
so I want nice clarity but dont need to have anything excessively
loud, though when next door are away Id like to crank things up of
course, especailly a bit of bass.
As a starter- Ive spotted a Yamaha package at Richer Sounds- a
slimline A/V for Ł150 (Yamaha RXSL80S) and speaker package for Ł100
(NSP110) but not on the quality.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks
D.
