I too have the same problem. I have 25 thomson TV. On starting I makes
sound of arching (sparking) inside. On opening I found there is blue arching
between EHT and nearyby parts. It archs 3-10 times and tv goes into standby.
The standby led flashed 2 times and then 7 times. Few times it started with
a hissing sound and grainy and hazy picture. I have also noted that the
picture was blown out (I dont know the exact word but like burning in white
areas or more hightlighting) since last 3-4 months, maybe more.
