Hi,

Wonder if anyone could give advice please. I wish to order a set of Sony
MDR-DS 8000 headphones from the states but Im a bit unsure about ordering
any electrical items from there as with regards to voltage. I think the
voltage over there is 110 volts compared to ours, so if I was to order the
item, would it work on our supply or would I have to buy an adaptor or
transformer of some kind??

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Shaun

Some modern devices use switch-mode power supplies and will run on 110 - 240
volts without any adjustments. I would suggest sending an email to the
suppliers in the USA or see if there is an online manual from Sony.

I dont know the model, but unless they are something like electret
headphones with a transformer you shouldnt have any problems with
normal headphones.

Normally worldwide firms like Sony tend to use standard power supplies
(for economic reasons) which have switcheable voltages.

Thanks Nigel and Kurt, managed to find a manual to download and told me all

Probably get done by customs, unless you hide it in personal baggage or
something.

Add VAT & Duty (think total of 21% or 22%)

Youll need a step down converter. Theyre about Ł15, maximum wattage about
30W.
